My Story
Music has been the running soundtrack of my life for as long as I can remember. It all started when I was about five years old, completely captivated by the rhythm and energy of watching an old movie with John Travolta in Grease. That single moment sparked a lifelong obsession, immediately turning me off my parents' record stack in favor of pop radio.
As I grew, my appetite expanded. I dove headfirst into classic jazz, deep blues, and hard hitting rock though back then, metal wasn't quite on my radar yet. That changed during my university years studying engineering, where I took up the drums for a couple of college rock bands. My world exploded into grunge, heavy metal, and surprisingly, even classical opera. Having immersed myself in almost every corner of the sonic spectrum, I comfortably consider myself a total "music junkie" (or a true "music blonde," if you will).
My passion was so strong that while wrapping up my engineering degree, I enrolled in a second degree for music education. However, life stepped in. My parents couldn’t fund my studies, so once I graduated as an engineer, duty called, and corporate work fully consumed my time.
The turning point came in 2017 when my father passed away. That loss forced me to stop, reflect, and realign with what truly makes me feel alive: music. I made a promise to live more fully, starting with attending as many live concerts as possible and creating the Kaxben Music YouTube channel to share that passion with the world.
